Amaterasu - Gaiaremediation Mode (Uta 3)

Amaterasu (アマテラス) is an artificial satellite in place over the world, and the culmination of all ancient mankind's technology.

Background Edit

Mainly used to observe the land and manage the weather, its capacity to maintain itself  even after being launched means it has continued its functions without change, even centuries after being deployed. As an alternate function, it can limit its other systems' output, power itself up, and prime itself for use as an orbital weapon. However, when used for any purpose beyond its original one, it immediately shuts down all functions afterwards as a safety measure. To restore its functions, the satellite's systems must be rebooted from a ground console.

When the Tatari were released into the Imperial Capital, the electrical wave emitted from Amaterasu wiped out all the Tatari, but the satellite ceased all functions after firing. Without its meteorological regulation, the land would soon freeze, so Oshtor and friends travelled to the transmission facility underneath Kujyuri castle, and reactivated Amaterasu from there. With that, they managed to avoid devastation to the land, but the systems would take some time to return to full power. It would be a long time before the land's temperature returned to the warmth they had known.
